If you are planning to make drink labels to get the word out about bottled water business or provide water in style for guests at personal events such as weddings and parties, you should consider making customized water bottle labels. These labels are cost-effective and require minimal production time. With that in mind, below are some things you must know before ordering your labels and ensure that it will be a good experience.

Learn How to Check for Overlaps or Gaps

If your definition of a perfect look is not having any gaps between the ends of your label, always make sure to choose the right label size. Make sure that you consult a water bottle label expert first, but if you are in need of a quick recommendation, labels that overlap slightly or with the ends butt up against each other will turn out pretty good. However, that is still a matter of preference. If you are opting for labels which have ends that overlap, keep in mind to not cover up important images or text when designing your label artwork.

Measure the Circumference of the Bottle

It is important to get the measurement of the bottle’s circumference – the distance around it. Simply find a piece of string or cloth measuring tape. If it’s the former, wrap the string around the bottle, cut it, and then lay it flat against a ruler. If the bottle has an existing label, removing it and taking measurements from there is a good idea as well. Oftentimes, the existing label is smaller so if you want to show off your design, always opt for a label that’s taller in height. The water bottle label sizes include 8 x 2.125 and 8.25 x 1.75.

Measure the Height of the Label Panel

If possible, try to measure the height of the bottle’s label panel before measuring its circumference. When it comes to label panel heights, you should note that there are bottles that have a significantly taller space and others have a much smaller space that is approximately 1.75 inches in height. In addition, it is useful to note that not many commercial bottlers allocate more funds to creating labels that are 4.5 inches in height. Bottlers that create tall labels (about two inches high) include Aquafina and Dasani.

Always Pick Your Bottle before Ordering Your Labels

Now you would not shop for a pair of shoes without knowing what size to get first right? That’s why you should not order labels without knowing what bottle you are going to place them on. However, many people still ignore this step and end up making labels that do not fit their labels. Avoid making this mistake at all costs! Hence, make it a point to always know what bottle you are going to use before purchasing and ordering any water bottle labels – or don’t buy shoes that will not fit!

There’s No Such Thing as a “Standard” Water Bottle

Many people have the impression that there is a standard size when it comes to bottles. This is a misguided idea that should be thrown out off the window! It is true that bottles come with standard content sizes like 8 ounces = 240 ml; 12 ounces = 355 ml; and 16.9 ounces = 500 ml. However, their shapes can be very different.
