Mention Christmas a few weeks before December kicks in and just like that, you excite avid shoppers. With discounts all over, shoppers take advantage of just about any discount they come across. But before then, labelers take their time to make sure they come up with labels that can effortlessly woo shoppers. They must come up with different labels every year, sometimes every week in December. In short, they have to be consistently creative. The easiest way to go about this seemingly arduous exercise is to keep tabs on emerging product labeling trends. So what exactly is new when it comes to Christmas labels?

Matte Labels

Matte labels have been around for quite some time. It wasn’t until recently though that the label became way too popular within a short time. It is easy to see and understand why and how this happened. Matte is translucent, which means it brings about a natural frosty look. It is also versatile, a perk that make it popular amongst marketers. It’s shiny yet non attractive texture makes matte the best material one can go for when labeling luxurious and high end products.

There are no downsides with matte labels, which is yet another perk that makes the label trend. Keep in mind that matte doesn’t just trend around Christmas. The labels stand out throughout the year. Go for matte labels if you are looking for elegance and subtlety or you simply want to label organic products.

Gloss Labels

It is hard, almost impossible to talk of matte labels without mentioning a thing or two about gloss labels. As a matter of fact, there is a contention already over which of these two options experts should stick to. It all boils down to one’s preferences of course. But even then, one cannot overlook the perks that come along with gloss labels.

Gloss boasts of a natural polished look, which is exactly what product manufacturers need to label their products with around Christmas. That is not all though. Being transparent, gloss gives an illusion that texts have been directly printed on goods.  Remember too that gloss blends well with nearly all surfaces. The material sticks well on glass, wooden, metal and metal surfaces.

Opaque, Transparent And Translucent Labels

Opaque labels have been around for decades. This trend is not about to change anytime soon. The same cannot be said of transparent and translucent labels. While they have been around for a short time, their influence is quickly making an impact.  Opaque labels make it easy for one to label products with luminous labels in a bid to highlight either the price, the discount off a product or a promotion. Translucent labels do not offer the same perk, which means they only remain effective when labeling high end products and consumables. Then there are of course, transparent labels which are appropriate for not just high end products but averagely priced ones as well. They are more than just ideal for labeling fresh produce, snacks and assorted cosmetics.
